Bernie Hughes

Bernie qualified in Holistic Swedish Massage and Reflexology in 2008 and has been building on her training ever since. Her route into massage began through a personal experience of reflexology and massage during her own pregnancy, a positive experience that sparked a lifelong passion for holistic therapies and their role in supporting health.

With a keen interest in running and fitness, Bernie developed a particular understanding of the physical demands placed on active bodies and went on to gain a BTEC Level 5 Professional Diploma in Sports and Remedial Massage and Sports Injuries. She practises a range of techniques including Myofascial Release, Soft Tissue Release and Neuromuscular Technique, making her an excellent choice for anyone managing sports-related tension, injury recovery or long-standing muscular problems.

Bernie is also one of two practitioners at Oak Park Clinic qualified in oncology massage, bringing specialist knowledge and sensitivity to working with patients during and after cancer treatment.

Bernie is currently in her third year of osteopathy training, reflecting her career-long commitment to professional development and her belief in the value of understanding the body deeply and from multiple perspectives.
