Frequently Asked Questions

Can I book online?

Yes, most of our treatments are available to book online. Simply visit www.oakparkclinic.co.uk/online-booking to make your appointment. If you can’t find what you are looking for, please call us on 01252 850800 or email us at info@oakparkclinic.co.uk.

Can I bring anyone else to my appointment with me?

If you need to bring any little ones you may have with you, you are very welcome. They can either join you in the treatment room or wait in reception if they are old enough. We have various books and toys available but feel free to bring anything that your child might like to quietly entertain themselves with.

If you would like to bring a friend or family member to support you during an appointment that is also absolutely fine.  Once you are feeling comfortable they could return to reception and wait for you there (maybe even with a cup of tea), depending on what feels best for you.

Patients under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Can I feed and change my baby at the Clinic?

Absolutely. We have a lot of very young patients and parents who need to bring little ones with them when they come for an appointment. If you need to feed or change your baby, before, during or after an appointment, just let us know and we will do anything we can to accommodate you.

Can I speak to a Practitioner before making an appointment?

Absolutely. Our practitioners are very happy to answer any questions you may have and clarify anything you may be unsure about before you make or attend your appointment. Call the clinic and we can arrange a time or send us an email with any questions you may have.

Can you help me find out which treatment is best for me?

Yes. Please call us on 01252 850800 or email us at info@oakparkclinic.co.uk. The reception team can advise you, if you’re happy to discuss your current symptoms and requirements to ensure you are seen by the most appropriate practitioner. You are welcome to ask to speak to a practitioner at the clinic before you book an appointment.

Do you have a Cancellation policy?

We do indeed. Please contact us at least 24 hours before your appointment if you would like to reschedule or if you need to cancel for any reason. Whilst our aim is to be as flexible as possible we do reserve the right to charge for any missed or cancelled appointments for which we were not given 24 hours notice.

Do you sell Gift vouchers?

We sell gift vouchers for some of our treatments, please ask for more details about what is available. You can pop by and pick them up, or we can post them to you or the recipient.

How can I pay?

We accept payment by cash, cheque, credit and debit card, over the phone card payments and Oak Park Clinic gift vouchers.

How do I get in touch with my Feedback?

If you have any feedback about Oak Park Clinic we would love to hear it. Drop us an email to info@oakparkclinic.co.uk or pick up a feedback form the next time you are here.

How will I feel after my treatment?

Individuals react in different ways to different treatments. Some people feel very energised others quite sleepy. It is not unusual to feel a bit achy for a day or two afterwards, as you might after exercise. The best way to help your body make the most of your treatment is to drink plenty of water afterwards and get a nice early night. It is worth paying attention to how you feel post-treatment and discussing anything you noticed with your practitioner at your next appointment so they can adjust their treatments to best suit you as an individual. If you are at all concerned or have any questions about how you are feeling post treatment please do not hesitate to contact us on 01252 850800.

Insurance companies:

Our Practitioners are registered with a lot of the larger health insurance companies. Whether you are covered may come down to the type of policy you have. We strongly recommend that you contact your insurance company before treatment and inform them of your intention to attend Oak Park Clinic and the type of treatment you are seeking. They will be able to tell you whether you are covered under your policy, for how many treatments and whether they would like you to have a GP referral to the Clinic.

We require our patients to make payment directly to the clinic after each treatment. We will then provide you with a receipt, which you can send to your insurance company so they can reimburse you to the agreed level.

Recommendations and referrals:

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has recommended us to a friend, colleague or family member. We really appreciate all referrals and consider them a massive compliment.

What is your Patient confidentiality policy?

Here at Oak Park Clinic we take patient confidentiality very seriously. We have a professional and legal duty to keep private any information obtained during your consultation and treatment. We will never disclose details about you, or any treatment you have received, without your prior consent. You will be asked at your first appointment whether you are happy for your case to be discussed with other Oak Park Clinic Practitioners if it could be beneficial to your treatment plan and wellbeing.

What should I wear?

If you are attending the clinic for a manual therapy you are advised to wear comfortable clothing that you can lie down and move around in. You may be asked to remove some clothing so your therapist can see how your body is moving. Some people like to bring shorts to change in to for their treatment.

What will happen during my first appointment?

The answer to this is slightly dependent on the type of treatment you are having. Most new patient appointments will begin with a chat about what you are seeking treatment for, depending on the treatment you will also be asked about your medical history. You will be free to ask any questions you may have.

For Osteopathy and Acupuncture the practitioner will examine you standing and moving to enable them to make a diagnosis before treating. Our aim is to make sure that you feel comfortable and relaxed during your treatment. Your practitioner will be happy to explain any techniques used and answer any questions you may have at any point during your treatment.

Where can I Park?

Oak Park Clinic is based within the grounds of a house called The Old Parsonage. There is free parking available along the driveway and within the courtyard. On very busy days we do sometimes run out of parking but there is space to park on the quiet road, next to the Church, opposite The Old Parsonage.
